Slippery Steering Wheel, etc.

Anyone else have issues with their steering wheel being too slick/slippery on their '06 RL? Seems my hands are always sliding around. Also, I wish Acura would have put bumps at the 10 and 2 positions like on my old '04 TL, but more pronounced like on my wife's '06 Honda Civic Coupe. Any suggestions for a fix to make the steering wheel a bit stickier?

Yeah, I've wanted more grip on the wheel, too. It isn't bad if you wrap your fingers around it, but trying to turn by using your palm can be interesting.

I'll bet the wood-look steering wheel helps.

You definitely need the wood steering wheel. It has finger grooves on the back of the wood on the top half, and has the thumb slots at 3 and 9.

Try cleaning it with warm soapy water or an alcohol pad -- some yahoo at the dealership or at a car wash might have gotten Armor All on it or something.

Test it first, though, on the back of the wheel to make sure it won't ruin the finish on the leather...

Oh, forgot to add.. if you feel like modifying it, you may be able to get it wrapped professionally in alcantara. I did this on a momo wheel for my track car and also on my S2000. Works absolutely amazing and it looks pretty cool too, especially when installed with contrasting stitching. Only thing is that you'll have to re-wrap it every year or so as the oils from your skin harden the material.
