Simple question I Hope...odd behavior

So down to two quirks I can't find an answer for yet. spent last few days researching other items on forum and in owners manual and was successful with those but not on the 2 below. So here goes hope it's not something obvious I missed

1. When I used driver 2 fob I don't get any xm at all doesn't show subscription is enabled it does when I drive with driver fob 1

2. Again also with fob 2 the display above the radio the "upper display" will be either blank or flicker or jumbled this is the first time I have used fob 2 and I just went out there again 3 hours later and it doesn't seem to be reproducible. It was 100% reproducible earlier today

Obvious something to do with fob 2 but why in these instances?

If you noticed I just posted my experience with the key fobs last night.

I am no expert, but if you don't get better advice, I'd say:

1. for XM radio, enter your car with fob2, then, open the link www.siriusxm.com/refresh and enter your radio code. of course, make sure you're outside

2. Have only Fob2 on you and do a battery reset.

My non expert guess is that either that will work, or it's the module that makes those 'fob1' fob2' calls that need some love.

n.b. it help if one knows your year model and specs. cheers.

Have you tried the fob resync procedure listed on the back of the fob?

Can you confirm the screen never flickers with driver 1 fob? There is a known solder issue with the upper display circuit board. We have a thread I can link about it.

Thanks to both replies

Think I figured out the issue on xm my free trial ran out but for some reason it still plays I'm not gonna worry much about this issue unless I renew and it still happens

I can confirm that with each time driving with key fob 1 this behavior has never occurred and have driven a couple times before with fob 2 and this never happened. I did notice pushing on it or tapping it would correct temporarily when it happened.

Could you please link the known issue thread as it sounds like may be the issue or the symptoms point to it with the exception of fob 1 works 100% of the time.

I removed the upper display and opened it up tough to see the joints but both around the led 2 and 3 areas the pins for power both looked a bit quesrtionable so I dropped a fresh bead of solder on each will have to wait for rain and snow to end outside to reinstall. All other joints looked fine.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction

Looks like the resoldering may have fixed the issue. I went in yesterday afternoon with sun blazing on the dashboard and hot as it was when I picked it up it last week, used key 2 and no issues experienced.

Though my soldering skills could use some help it looks like got the job done.
