Resetting odometer in RL
Has anyone heard any stories about whether it is difficult to reset the odometer on the '05 RL? I bought an RL with 8K miles from a dealer, and a few things seem odd - like lots of wear on the floor mats, pedals and wiper blades. I read somewhere that some of the newer hi-tech cars could be hooked to a laptop and the odometer could be changed. Any ideas?

Yes it can be done, it can be done using the HDS tool.
They can rewrite the odo data, or if they install a new gauge board, they can rewrite the new board to anything they want.
Having said that, if they get caught, its federal time, not state time.

He might be able to have a dealer check Acura to see if any service records are available. Just checking Owner's Link won't give this info because the owner has to post it, but he can check to see if the previous owner posted anything for his VIN.

The 05 floor mats were crap, and if the car was an early 05 manufacture that sat out on a dealer lot for a while, the wiper blades could certainly be shot.
Pedals... Post pics... let's see?
