Remove plastic skid plate 2007 Acura RL
Hi Ho: I am new to the forum and also to Acura. Was doing routine maintenance and believe that the plastic skid plate has to be removed to change transmission fluid. There are some 10mm bolts and some plastic things that look like compression fittings of some kind. My question is: How are they removed? Do I just put a screw driver under them and pry them up?

Yes, pry them up. But you can take out the 10mm bolts and bend the shield enough to get a "Form-A-Funnel" in there and drain both the tranny and transfer case fluids. Makes it easier.
You CAN break those plastic doofers if you're not careful.

Hi Ho: Thanks, Dan. Exactly my thoughts; they look pretty fragile. Actually they look like they would be more at home on trim or some panel inside the car. Anyway, thanks for your input.

Hi Ho: Well, live and learn. I have discovered that Acura has a special tool for removing the plastic clips. It drives a thin blade in from opposing sides of the clip at the same time and collapses the inner part of the clip. After breaking one clip, I have discovered that two small screwdrivers can accomplish the same thing.
At over $4 each for the stupid little part, I thought others might like to know this trick. I enjoy this forum.
