Hello Guys I have been getting a rear rattle from the sunshade or subwoofer area of the Rl that's driving me mad, I have taken it to the dealer on 4 different occasions since purchasing th car in March of this year and they cant seem to hear the sound. I was told at one point I had the Sub too high and that might be causing the rattle. No it just makes the noise even on slight bumps and eems to be getting more sensitive. I have a CPO with extended. Would this still be covered for fixes? Any suggestions? Or fixes. I tried tapping the rear shelf and can hear the sound when I press down on the shelf. I find the rear shelf area on the RL to be very weak interms of the build and how the plastic elements are put together.

 

There is definitely a published fix for this, showing where to put felt to stop the rattle, but we cannot get to the TSB site anymore. Search this forum and you should find the info on this. I had this issue and the dealer fixed it for free but it may have been a warranty thing.

Same thing with my 2006 RL. Dealer finally stripped everything down to the rear parcel shelf and covered everything in felt. Except for the little rollers on the sunshade, everything is 90% quieter.

Have noticed that just about every Acura product has noises/rattles from that area.
