Rear Spoiler Question

For those that have the rear spoiler intalled, I have a question about the heavy duty trunk struts that are supposed to have been changed as part of the installation. Are the new struts strong enough to make the trunk pop open a few inches after it has been opened? Or does the just unlock and not pop up. I noticed that before I had the spoiler installed by my dealer, the trunk popped up couple of inches when opened and it no longer did this after the spoiler was installed. Just wanted to figure out if the tech installed the upgraded struts or skipped this step to save time since I had issues with all other accessories he installed on my car.

I just tried mine for you. The trunk pops up about 1/2" maybe. I didn't change the struts. Still the original ones

I have the spoiler installed with the heavy duty struts, and the trunk just pops open...it does not pop open a few inches. However, first I installed the spoiler and did not change the original struts for a first few days and I've noticed that the trunk lid did not stay open a half way or so...and it kept dropping...didn't like it. So I went ahead and changed them out with the heavy duty struts, now it stays open a half way or pretty much where you want it stay open. Hope it helps.

Mine just pops up about an inch. Spoiler was already dealer installed when I bought the RL. I assume they put in the new struts.

My dealer installed the spoiler and said they put in the new struts. The trunk lid pops open a half inch or so.
