Question about MID displaying SH-AWD status

I've only had the car a couple of days, but here's my question: When I get back in the car and turn it on, the MID's upper portion is not displaying anything, unless I press the "i" button on the wheel, and then the display comes back. I can't yet figure out why. Oh, and once I'm driving I can't bring up that part of the display because I'm no longer in park.

Please advise, if you have any insight you can share. Thank you.

Just push the up or down buttons on the steering wheel and the last used display will return. Long-pressing "i" to get to the MID settings only works if the car is in park.

I will check that when I get in the car today, but the fact that the upper portion doesn't automatically come back on when I start the car seems odd. The Lowe portion does. I see the outside temperature and the odometer light up, but not the SH-AWD status.

One (button push) is all you need.

That's just the way it is.

Thanks, and just to confirm - the one button push to display tire pressure, SHAWD, etc. has to happen before I start driving?

You can push the up/down buttons anytime while driving. It simply titles between the trip computer, tire pressure, and sh-awd displays.

Yes, the display is available at all times. If it makes you feel any better, I drove for an entire month before knowing how to even bring it up.
