Question about A/C controls

Everytime I change the A/C to auto it switches the fans to the feet/floor position. If I change it back to the normal fan position it turns the auto button off. Is there a way to have the auto button for the normal fan position and if so, how do I change it? Thanks.

Good question, anyone have comments on changing the default auto setting??

I believe in Auto, the system decides where the fan blows based on temp. If it is heating, floor. Cooling dash. It might do a combo as well based on conditions. That is what I have observed.
Also, I think the system will still keep your temp setting if you select dash vent over floor and auto light goes out. Not sure on that part, but believe so.

Bingo. Full "Auto" mode controls the direction of the airflow, the temperature of the air, and the speed of the fan. If you simply change the direction of the airflow, the fanspeed and temperature should still be automatically controlled to maintain the preset temperature unless you alter the fanspeed.

In the G1 RL there is a "Full Auto" setting; you have the fanspeed automatically controlled independent of the direction of airflow. I would assume this "feature" would carryover to the G2.

Is this the distinction you are trying to make?

what you need to do is set the heat or fan speed before you leave the car then when you turn it back on it will be in the same spot.
