Prospective RL Buyer looking for guidance
Good morning, at least it is here any way (I am in the Toronto/Ontario/Canada region).
I have just completed my homework and have decided to purchase a 2005 or 2006 RL, depending on availability. If I can't find one, I will go with a TL. I am looking for any guidance in advance of my purchase. Thank you and I look forward to being a future contrubutor.

Well if you've done your homework, you've probably discovered it's an outstanding car, and there really are no serious issues to watch out for (except for the PAX tires--see below). I just bought a 2005 RL (40k miles), and save for making sure all of the electrical doodads (including the seldom used power shade in back) work, I didn't have much that I looked out for.
If you encounter a US RL up in Canada (not sure if many cross the border), they will have a couple less features than Canadian models (ventilated seats and headlight washers). Also a TL of a similar age will only be front wheel drive, which may be an issue up north. The "A" spec 18" wheels seem to have cheaper replacement tires than the 17" (not a common size), and I forgot to check for a car with all season tires (mine came with summer tires).
Oh, if you get a 2006, watch out for the run flat PAX tires, which have many issues (search these forums or the web). 2005 models didn't offer them.
