Parasitic draw

So I have something drawing on my 05 RL, 103k on it. If i leave it off for a day it is dead, I had Firestone check it out, but they only were able to determine that it is most likely my amp still drawing power and or my cd changer. Anyone else have this happen or know what the draw is from?

AFS light

My afs light will randomly come on now whenever my headlights are on. I haven't noticed any issues with them but this light is annoying and can't be disabled. Any thoughts?

Search the board, common problem.

Go on you tube to learn about identifying a draw. You'll need a multimeter. It could be a lot of things, but I believe door handles may be more common cause on these cars.

I havent heard of the CD changer being a power draw issue but the amp could be. Probably more likely an issue in an aftermarket amp than the stock one? Im not sure. I also read on here that the hands-Free link (HFL) on the '05 RL has been known to suck power. Your issue however is most likely a faulty door handle.

I agree with gmason about the HFL module being faulty in the 2005 model. Disconnect that and see if the draw is still there. If that doesn't do it, disconnect the XM unit in the rear driver's quarter panel.

The AFS warning is most likely related to your dead battery. I'm merging the threads since you didn't bother searching.
