One year anniversary

One year anniversary
I received a letter from the dealership that in a few days the one year anniversary of my 2005 RL will occur. It also stated that I should bring the car in to receive its six months application of AutoMate. AutoMate is a paint sealant that protects the painted surfaces of the car from sun, rain and now. The dealership provided this feature as a no-cost to me sales inducement when they sold the RL to me last January.
As of this date, I have only put 5400 miles on the RL. The display shows that my oil is down to 30%. Since the car will be one year old next week, I am having the dealer change the oil, filter, etc. during the same appointment for the reapplication of the AutoMate.
My driving this past year has been a mix of city and freeways. The RL has averaged 20mpg during this time. The highest average I attained was 27mpg driving one time non-stop intra-state and filling up only when three gallons gas remained in the tank.
The worst mileage I got was one time when I only drove city streets between fillups. At that time, I got 16.7mpg.
The really good news is that in my first year of ownership, I did not experience ANY kind of problem with the RL; no failures, no rattles, nothing to give me any cause to feel that the RL was not the best car buy I ever made.

Three Wheelin'
Happy anniversary shepsan. Your experience with your RL mirrors my own. I average 20.5 mpg around town and just over 26 mpg on the highway ( I could probably get a lot better highway mileage but the speed limit in these parts is 70 mph and so I average about 75 - 80 mph - not the prime speed for maximizing gas mileage). I have also experienced a trouble-free 6000 miles in my first year other than a small tear in a wiper blade which I will have replaced at my oil change next week.

Today January 4 th I had my first oil, filter, etc. service done at Bell Acura. I arrived at the dealership at 7AM and was out at 8AM. The service cost was $32.00.
In addition to the maintenance, they applied a new coat of AutoMate at their cost.
The service people are excellent and made my time there a good experience.
While I was there, I checked out the 2006 RL with the tech package and got some ball park pricing. They would give me approx $42k in trade in for my 2005 RL and want $53k for the 2006 RL with tech package.
Happy new year to all.

I purchased my RL on January 28, 2005.
Six months later in June, I the oil reading was still at 60%. I checked with the dealership and was told not to change until reading was 20%.
Today (at 5412 miles) the oil reading is just at 30%. When I received the notice to make an appointment for my second free AutoMate application , I decided to have the oil, filter, etc. done at the same time. Today was the day!
