Not very good sales manager

Not very good sales manager
So the lease on our MDX is up soon. We have been looking at the new MDX and visited a local dealer. The sales manager is trying to talk us into making the switch early. I commented that I had an RL. He commented the RL was his least favorite Acura and he just does not care for them.
Not the way to make your customer feel good. Acura needs to do some more training.

Given the low sales of the RL, I can see where it wouldn't be his favorite model.
That being said, his lack of professionalism would encourage me to find another dealer.

It's been my experience without exeption, that dealerships are not populated with car enthusiasts, but vultures trying to squeeze every last cent they can from people that walk in unprepared. Since most have to roll over and give up too much to sell an RL, it's no wonder some don't care for it.

It would be to a salesdroid's advantage to know your product, so if a potential customer asks, "How many horsepower?" you can answer with confidence, and potentially hook an unsure prospect.

Honestly - go to a Toyota dealership. We've had *horrible* experience with every single one in Atlanta:
World Toyota, Marietta Toyota, etc.
They should start over from scratch.
Acura, on the other hand, has been good enough that I'll soon have my third one in a row (TL > RL > RDX or MDX).

Read the title of the thread, this is about a sales manager, not a salesman. It's about the guy you like to do business with.
BTW it 's "how much horsepower" not "how many horsepower". "How many horses" would have been acceptable.

LOL thanks for the pointer, some good reading there.
I read the title, and BOTH the SM and droid should know their product..you sure know how to play fast and loose with the numbers when figuring leases or financing, so learning some 0-60 and 1/4 mile times shouldn't be too difficult.
Better start being nice to me....I'm going to be looking for a new ride soon.

My droid duties are selling world class sports cars. I'm only an Acura owner and enthusiast now, yet I'm still here at Azine because, well, I like it here.
If you want to get into a 911, let me know.
