Haters........
there's always a hater ........

It really is a matter of personal preference, some people may just want to have the piece of mind that they maintained the car from the start.....others make the economical decison and just go CPO, there is no right or wrong answer to whether someone should be new or pre owned, the only fact is you save $... I dunno who's hatin on the G cause the car is sick especially the double wishbone suspension, that shit probably rides so nice

slawek65, What do you think about the ride? If it is anything like the G35 or 350Z, it is very harsh IMHO. I know you feel planted and tight in corners, but after an RL, how can you deal with that for long trips? I personally love the RL cushion. Not a fan of the roll but definitely the cushion. Maybe a different ride for non-sport drives?

i have to ask... do you have kids? I have three... and having a two seater or a full on sports car is out of the question.
if I was single / no kids / or in SOME way did not HAVE to have back seats.. my $40k would be going into a CPO boxster S or Cayman S. PERIOD.
once you've driven one you will be ruined for anything else.
enjoy the G. I'm not a hater. really i'm not. but if I had $40k to spend, I'd be doing the CPO route.. or ok.. maybe not "CPO" but a barely used / pristine example - whether it was a private party, CPO dealer, or trade in...
you can get some SMOKIN deals on trades. a buddy of mine was in the car busines and said the BEST deals are on trade ins. dealers take them to move a new car, and then they try to sell the trade in. they usually only keep it 30 days and if they don't move it, they wholesale it. so figure if you find a car yo ulike... like say you want a Honda S2000 adn you find a used 2007 S2k at a Mitsubishi dealer.. you know somem guy traded it in to get an EVO... the dealer raped him on teh trade and want to dump it fast. odds are you will get it close to wholesale if you push.
i used to have a volvo S60R.. bad ASS car. I had $10,000 of EVOLVE mods into it... i outran E46 M3s in it... anyway.. i bought it used off a ford dealer. some guy traded it in to get an SUV... they tried to work me and I told them what I'd pay..and it was JOKE of a price. after they tried every trickin teh book i walked away. they chased me down in the parking lot and said "ok".. i got it for an INSANELY low price.... it was one year old, had 14k m iles, was under factory warranty... i loved that car.... it wasn't "cpo"... but I got lucky... if you look.. you can find what you want..and pay what you want.
again, I"m not a hater. enjoy the G. I'm sure it is a nice car and in some ways is likely better than the RL. it is newer for sure. faster I"m sure.
post some pics. I'd like to see it.
just don't go test drive a cayman.. you'll cream your pants...

Boxter, Cayman, S2000. Any of these cars don't have AWD. I don't want to drive any of these cars every day in winter in Chicago, even with winter tires. After RL I want to have AWD on my car. What I was looking for is every day car with little fun. I think my G37x fit my bill.

I live in so cal.... Our Winter is your summer....
I have to agree. A vert like an s2k or box would really only be a toy / summer car... Not good for snowy seasons.. AWD does do amazing stuff in bad weather. We don't get snow, but get ood rain once on a while...my rl drives through wet roads as if they were dry...
How fast is the G and how does it handle compared to the RL?
I'm sure a lot of ushere would appreciate a comparison if you have time...things you miss about the RL, things you like better about the G, etc?
Thx. When you move to CA, then check out the RWD convertibles....

slawek65, I know you want a car with all wheel drive. But not all wheel drives are the same. My brother had a 2005 infiniti G35x. and he said infiniti’s all wheel drive absolutely sucks !! Nissan (infiniti’s) all wheel drive is called intelligent all wheel drive. That means the car is normally rear wheel drive and when sensors detect the front wheels slipping. It sends power to both front wheels. So it is not always all wheel drive.

There have been numerous threads regarding the changes in cars of different years so that implies that the next model year probably has enhancements of many kinds. People that by Acura's typically appreciate technology and incremental years usually change in features, enhancements and options.
I bought a new 10 MDX because it had significant improvements over the 09 but I could have saved 20k if I bought the used 09. My choice was for the new car feel, the improvements and I don't like other peoples body fluids impregnated into the leather, carpets and switches. I had enough decisions to make without me concerning myself as to what was the recipient of the nose picking at the stop light.
