Newly purchased RL, bad CD changer

Hello everyone.
We just recently purchased a 2005 Acura RL with Navi. (SO IN LOVE) The navigation works and the am/fm stereo and the xm works, but for some reason when I press the disc button, nothing happens. I was reading another thread on here of someone saying the that the stereo head unit needed to be replaced. If this is correct, I really dont want to go through an acura dealership and pay out the wazoo. So, my question is does anyone have a stereo head unit that would fit that they are willing to part with? I am ready to pay. If anyone else has an idea to remedy my problem, I am open to suggestions!

Tons of great used ones out there.

Alternatively, you take a step into the modern day era and have an auxiliary iPod/MP3 player installed in the car for about the same price.

What do you mean it does nothing? Does the upper LCD say "No Disc" or is it just blank? Have you tried the load button? IIRC, the led will flash read and then turn green when the disc can be put in.

No, I mean like nothing. lol I have pressed Load, eject. If the am/fm is on its doesnt falter. Nothing changes on the display. No lights turn on. Just plain unresponsive. That is the only thing on the entire unit that doesnt seem to work.

First lived in Virginia Beach for 28 years and now in Cary, NC. Do not miss the HRBT!!! Lots of post about CD changers being jammed. This is worth a try. Ignition on hold down the eject button and give the dash right above the cd player a good smack. I mean a good smack. Many have posted the jammed cd popped out and that was all of the problem.

You or your dealer can remove the audio unit and send it out for repair...They are gonna need the whole face plate MINUS the hvac unit that screws into the back of the audio unit. There should be threads on here about it.

Isn't it an Alipine unit, and didnt they up their refurb price to like $300? I would buy a used one before sending a broken one.

Eh. I don't know. A used one is probably a lot more likely to break than a refurbished one. For the extra $50 or so I'd probably rather just get it refurbished.

The HRBT is probably even worse now than how you remember it. I will be glad when we leave here to go back to my hometown in Alabama, where people know how to drive and I can keep wide open at 70 mph on the highway
I dont think its just a jammed cd, otherwise I think I would be getting some sort of response from the display when pressing the disc or load button. I will give this a shot though, just in case.
