New tires
I changed the OEM tires to Michelin Pilot sport a/s.
They may be a bit nosier, but the quiet rating is the same as the OEM tires according to Michelin.
The rim that protects the wheel is larger.
I don't know if they handle better that the OEM tires, and the rating according to Michelin is the same.
Now I am wondering why I picked the Pilot sport if its rating is similar to OEM tires.
Driving with the temp tire is dangerours, as it required a long braking distance. The first time I really need to brake in a hurry, I actually felt the car accelerated forward.
The tire pressure system worked fine afterwards.

Basically, I'd think Pilot Sport A/S is better than OEM tires. They seem to have the similar rating but they're in two differetn categories.
Is RL using Pilot MXM4?
If so, Michelin puts them into the same category: Sports Car
And, there is another tire better than MXM4 while MXM4 is put into Performance luxury: Energy MXV4 S8 it's 10 8 10 8 10
If we compare to another signature Michelin tyre in passenger tire category, HydroEdge, 10 10 10 10 8. No tires is better than this.
I mean you could check www.tirerack.com, they have some detailed comparison chart out there. It could be another reference for you.
Pilot Sport A/S is Ultra-High Performance All-Season, but HX MXM4 is just the Grand Touring All-Season.
You could see the totally different numbers out there. They may not be 100% accurate or objective, but they have some useful info.

The RL has Pilot HX MXM4 which is not listed on Michelin's site. The Pilot MXM4 which is listed doesn't have the RL's tire size.
The HydroEdge also is not available in the RL's size.
I bascially picked the Pilot Sport A/S based on the user reviews on Tirerack.com. I wasn't too concerned with the tire's relatively lower rating in wear.
The Pilot Sport A/S I have is w rated, where as the OEM was V rated. They both have the same weight rating.
