New proud owner !!!

Hey fellas,

Just wanted to introduce my self and my new ride.

Name: Peter
Location: PR
Car:2005 Acura RL , Black Interior 62,+ miles.

Bought it Tuesday for 11,000 at a Honda Dealer (it was traded). From what I've notice the previous owner took pretty good care of it.

Let me know what you think.

Note:

Really like the site... lots of info.

First Mod:

Headlight restoration with the 3M Kit.

Sorry for the bad pics (CP Shots)

Btw.. No Nav.. Only shows the compass screen... Call the local service center and they stated that a new Map Disc wont work.

Since i don't have the maps or xm option will the USAPEC Aux kit work?

Never mind, just took a closer look and realized you're in Puerto Rico. They might not have maps for that area.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.

I'm looking for a aux kit with no iPod interface controls.

Like this one:

http://www.uneeksupply.com/2005-Acur...r_p_10950.html

Question:

All Acura RL (2G) have the 14 pin connector?

Link info:

TITLE: iPod Auxiliary Input Module for Honda Factory Radios.
DESCRIPTION: Plugs into 14 Pin Factory Honda Radios and iPod.
FEATURES:
  • Provides an Auxiliary Audio Input to your factory car stereo.
  • Connect your iPod/iPhone directly to this module from the bottom dock connector.
  • It also has a 3.5mm (headphone jack) to allow you to connect a MP3 player or other device with a 3.5mm connector.
  • The iPod port and the 3.5mm port are toggled using the track up and down functions on your stereo.
  • Control remains on your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. No text will display on the stereo.
SIMPLE INSTALLATION:
This item plugs into the 14-pin plug in the back of the factory stereo. It’s a plug and play item.Power up the stereo and select the auxiliary mode on your stereo. The device should play.
IPOD/IPHONE COMPATIBILITY
This module works with all iPods, iPhones, and iPads with the dock connector. This item charges all iPods as well.It has the 5V charging ability unlike other sellers ipods.
Occasionally, the message that the accessory is not made for iphone may appear.Select no when asked to enter airplane mode and your iphone will function as normal.
VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY**

Accord (2002 – 2011)
Civic (2005-2011)

We don't have much information about the head unit harness. I know the Nav harness in the trunk is 20 or 32 pin depending on the year. The service manual will surely say how many pins. It is in the Garage (second thread in the forum, "sticky").

Cheers to a new ride.

Sweet. Congratulations!

By the way, you have one of the most durable paint colors, and it's less susceptible to rock chips too.

BTW, that headlight maintenance not only looks much newer and better, it will tremendously improve your headlight range and therefore your night driving safety. I don't understand why everybody with this problem doesn't fix it, even those with less brag-worthy crs than yours. Smart move all the way around.

Hey thanks for for the comments/advise...

Update/help needed...

Went into the diagnostic menu (cancel/map/guide/menu) i get gps signal (multiple sats). Im located in puerto rico. Installed/downloaded my disc and now i get the navigation warning when i turn the switch but still end up getting compass screen only. I did read that swaping the dvd unit with one from a gech pkg fixes this.

I have to change the dvd unit or should i try a new disc ver. Im on 4.12

New DVD unit in the trunk. Follow the thread you found in electronics.

FYI, if you click the button next to "Quote" (the page with a green dot in bottom right) and then click "Quote" on the last post you want to quote, you can quote multiple posts in one.
