Cool New Addition - 06 RL!

Finally got an 06 RL, celestial silver with ebony interior. Less than 72,000kms and it's even a Canadian car, so at least I have cooled seats but no other options. Factory spoiler will be coming in the near future for sure!

Still familiarizing myself with the car, one thing I noticed however, the previous owner gave me the manual, quick start guide, maintenance booklet, wheel lock sets, etc and two key fobs, but there is no actual "key", yet there is a keyhole slot on the driver's door? Am I missing a valet key or something?

The only issue with the car so far is the rear window on the passenger's side will not work from the driver's armrest window controls, but works fine from the back seat control itself

the key fob's have a black button on them, push it and pull via key chain hole.

the window control fix is floating around somewhere so don't get too upset just yet.

The car looks great minus the Mugen badges tacked on a luxury car. It would be like someone putting TRD on a Lexus LS430...lol.

Seriously, although 15 seconds is a little much.

2006 RL Sunroof Reset/ Window Reset Procedures
According to the Sevice Manual, In order to reset the Moonroof Control Unit do these steps:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Press and hold the tilt switch and turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Release the tilt switch and turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 four times.
5. Press and hold the moonroof open switch until 3 seconds after the moonroof is fully opened.
6. Press and hold the moonroof close switch until 3 seconds after the moonroof is fully closed (tilted).
7. Confirm that the moonroof is reset by using the moonroof AUTO OPEN and AUTO CLOSE function.
****************************************
To reset the EACH problem window, do these steps from the individual window control, NOT the driver's master control panel:

Press and hold the button to roll each problem window all the way down, then hold for 5 seconds after the window is down. Let go of the button. Press and hold the button to put the window the whole way up then hold for 5 seconds after the window is up. your windows should now be reset and can be controlled from the drivers window controls.

I've gotta do a proper wash and claybar/polish/wax and then will be getting some pics. I got it for a pretty good price, under $24K Canadian which is typically what 05's with higher mileage are going for.

And, my windows now work perfectly with the 5 sec up/down trick. I am slowly familiarizing myself with the features, today's accomplishments were storing the memory seat/wheel/mirrors positions with the driver's door "memo" buttons, and the handsfree setup with my phone. I was a bit surprised there doesn't seem to be any way to synch the phone's address/contacts book to the car, and instead I have to manually store each entry with name+number?

The address book & contact syncing technology did not come onboard with the RL until the 2009 model year. You will have to manually add and voice tag your address books.

in 2009 the number would have to be stored as "personal" or else it won't xfer automatically, it's a pain in the @$$ and I just gave up and did it one by one manually.
