Need RL info...the RL is actually GROWING on me (gasp!)
Ok, I had my heart set on an m45 sport for awhile, but being stuck in China currently makes it hard to buy one.
After some discussions about being "let down" by the current RL and being an adamant M45 supporter over the RL, it's actually beginning to grow on me for some ODD reason. I'm still disappointed by the power since I'm gonna be moving up from a CL-S and want something at least quicker, but for the prices I've been seeing the RL go for, that just may sway me. I can afford an M45 sport with all the fixings (around $57k), but since I'm planning on going back to school for an MBA in a year or so, the more value-conscious RL may be a more sensible move.
I don't know if Gavriil is reading this thread, but if I DO end up buying an RL, he and everyone else can call me a hippocrite.
Need some info:
Anyone got pics of their car with the 18" oem rims?
Also, rear lights are LED...does this include the rear turn signals, or only the brake and markers?
What have been the real-world 0-60mph and 1/4mi times that everyones been agreeing upon here?
What's with this "ambient" lighting that I've read about in the TL...does the RL have it and anyone have pics?
What's the headliner material like? Is it the cheapy mouse fur that the CL had or a better?
How "tight" does the rear legroom "seem" in the RL comapred to the CL? No numbers, just how do you perceive it (much bigger, a little bigger, etc.).

you damn hypocrite (sp?) Ok, I have no idea what you were talking about there - so I'm just saying it for fun
I can only answer a couple of your questions...
What's with this "ambient" lighting that I've read about in the TL...does the RL have it and anyone have pics?
Yes, there is ambient lighting. There are two blue lights from the top of the center console which shine down on the dash at night. Same as the TL - VERY nice IMO. Unlike the TL, there are also blue lights underneath the dash. When you open your door, they light up the footwell of both the driver and passanger. There is also blue lights in the door handles for you to be able to see them. I love them.
If I remember, I will take pictures of the blue lighting tonight.
What's the headliner material like? Is it the cheapy mouse fur that the CL had or a better?
I don't know what the CL had - but the material is soft - very soft. It is very different from the TL.
The others, somebody else will have to answer for you. Good luck, I hope you get it.

While you're at it, can you take a pic of the tail-lights while lit (braking)?
Thanks

I dont think you should get an RL...it doesnt do 0-60 mph in 2 seconds so how will you be able to go race people on the highway or do stoplight to stoplight full throttle runs with this slow ass car?
As for your questions:
-there are pics around here of 18" rims on the RL. Looks fine to me but then again so do the stock 17s.
-I think just the brake lights are LEDs. Not sure though since I am never behind the car when driving it
-wouldn't know the acceleration numbers since i dont carry a stop watch to test it while driving to work or wherever I drive to...these things dont mean jack to me. The car can get to normal speeds quick enough for any normal person
-the car has blue LEDs throughout the interior that make up the ambient lighting. It looks classy. Pics of the lighting would be useless since you need to see it in person to appreciate it.
-the headliner material is nice. Not as luxurious as the LS430 headliner (suede like) but it is good none the less. I doubt any car in the RL class/price range has better headliner material. Shit, I doubt any cars in the class have a better all around interior with respect to layout, fit & finish and material quality. Some are probably on par but I doubt any are better.
-the RL is a great car if one sees it for what it is meant to be and that is not a 0-60 or 1/4 mile super car.
Oh and it is hypocrite not hippocrite

Yeah, I kind of forgot. I also forgot to do it last night. I doubt I will be able to take any during the daytime, but I will try - and tonight for sure.
