Mp3 vs CD

Hello all,

Question... Has anyone noticed or know if the quality of just burned CDs is better then a bunch of burned mp3 on a disk. I'm looking to get a bunch of music burned just don't know if I should use mp3 or CD thanks..

CDs are capable of music data per second of recording then a MP3 would have so technically can produce a better, fuller and richer tonal experience. Having said that, can you tell the difference in your car? I would say try listening to the same recording as a CD (ie - an original recording or a ripped version of it) and then as an MP3 and see if there is any difference to your ears and whether that difference is worth it to you.

thread is in wrong section.

It depends how the mp3 got encoded. Which is why generally an original or image of original on CD ensures a better quality sound using DTS and dolby, etc. The Bose system in the car was made for that.

Unless the MP3 came from a recording that was of higher quality than what was put on the CD, how could it be better? 99.99% of the time, a CD will be higher quality.
