maybe a nit
this maybe a nit, but took my RL in for a B6 maintenance to local Dealer. I have 80K miles, so have had multiple services from the same Dealer. Mostly routine stuff except for the AC replacement, Door handles, and Power Steering hose recall. Point being, I'm a regular customer.
When I took the car in on the latest B6 maintenance, I knew my FOB battery was low. I had planned to get to a store in a few days to get the battery. Had already replaced in other FOB after seeing warning for several weeks, so I knew that I had time to spare.
When Dealer called to tell me car was done, they said that they noticed FOB battery was dead and replaced it. I was thinking - cool, now I don't have to go to the store and I assumed they "threw it in" without charge to provide a great Service experience. I had arranged to pay by credit card so I could pick up the car late, so there was no Service guy to tell me what all they did when I picked up the car.
The nit is: After getting home, I looked at the bill and they charged me for the FOB battery. Just struck me the wrong way. Am I being too picky?

Depends. Did they charge you an arm and leg for the battery? If it's the same price as a store, I'd forget about it. If it's an inflated price, that's another story...

It was a couple bucks more than the store. Probably agree that I should just forget about it. I was just thinking what a little thing made me smile when they told me they replaced it (thinking they did it free) and then when I find out different how it made me feel. The Dealer had a chance to do good. These are the same guys that call me up after every service and ask me to tell Acura how good a job they did.
I had also talked to them about brake squeal which I lived through for 50K miles and then when they replaced brakes its still there. I told them that I thought there was a TSB on it and they said that it cannot be eliminated.

I wouldn't worry about the battery issue. The brake squeal on the other hand, can definitely be corrected. I had the issue on my '05 and the TSB took care of it.

In terms of eating the cost, my daughter lost her key to a Saturn. I went to a Satunr Dealer near work. Had never been there before. The guy gave me a new Key free - and keys are more expensive than FOB batteries.
In any case, I'm over it, but am interested in solving the brake issue. They replaced the front brakes at 55K miles. I complained about squeal and they "lubed" somewhere on the back of the pads. Helped for a couple of days. I told them about the squeal during this latest maintenance and they did the same lune again. Did not help and that's when they said nothing more can be done.
