Loud rattling/ scrapping noise after new brake pad install
Recently I performed a brake service that involved installing new OEM front and rear brake pads. Everything went relatively smoothly; however, when I took the RL out for a test drive, and to bed-in my brake pads, I noticed a loud scrapping/ rattling sound emanating from my front brakes after hard braking. This sound is only present after hard braking and does not appear under normal driving conditions.
Any ideas?
As part of installing the brake pads, I cleaned and greased the caliper in all of the appropriate places. The brakes pads had an anti-squeal compound added per instructions.

Forgot to mention, the rotors were thoroughly cleaned, and brake fluid was flushed with new fluid. I am still running on original rotors with 70K miles. The rotors do not seem to exhibit any signs of warpage; there is no pulsation during braking, or strange wear patterns on the rotor.
Thanks!
P.S.
To double check my sanity, the pad with little metal whiskers on the bottom of the pad, is mounted on the side of the rotor closest to the engine bay, correct?

agreed that rotors need to be cut or replaced.
gease the bottom bolt on the front calipers that you don't take out, that slide.
take everything apart again and spray brake cleaner.

I would actually replace the rotors as they are not $1000/ea! One thing I do not save money on is brakes, fuel (93oct), wipers, and anything that makes your ride much safer!!! Just my thought!
