Lost Key, $471 for a key???
This is my first post so forgive me, and give me guidance, if I'm in the wrong form.
4 months ago we bought a new 2008 RL. During our first trip my wife lost her key. Now that part was great, I'm the one who usually does that that kind of thing.
When we got home I called the dealer and was quoted $351 (for the key) plus $120 to program it. Called a second dealer and got same price on key and just $60 to program it. What a deal!!!
Do I have any other options, except banking on me never loosing my key?
Thanks for any suggestions.

you can try ebay, but also some OEM Acura Parts dealers online should have them. Then you can bring it to the dealer to program for $60. I tihnk I saw them for ~$270 on a few sites, still not cheap, but cheaper than the dealer is charging.

Welcome to AZ and to the 2G RL section in particular.
Your answer is.....eBay! Several here have done this and gone to the dealer for programming. Voila--money saved.
....and yes, $471 for a KEY. Believe it.

I had lost the key for my 05 RL and they charged me $452. So your quote of $471 sounds about right. The key itself, as you might have noticed, is pretty much the same anywhere you go. It's the labor and programming charges that get you.
As for eBay, while you can find great prices, I've found some for $70, the remotes, for the most part, have keys that have already been cut. If all you need is a remote, that's the way to go.

Those keys are expensive. You won't do much better with other brands, either.
Just don't lose it!
