Leather Question
Today I decided I would apply some leather conditioner to the RL. I have always used the Zanio leather conditioner and it works better than anything else I have used.
Now on to my question. What is real leather in the interior that will need leather conditioner vs. just cleaning the surface. Here are the parts I have questions about.
Door panels the handle and arm rest appear to be real leather. There is also a perforated section above the arm rest that looks like leather but did not take to the conditioner as did the seats. After a couple coats it appeared the conditioner started to soak in. Are all these parts genuine leather (both front and rear doors)?
Front seats the seating surface appears to be genuine leather, but I was not quite as sure about the side coverings and the back of the seat. The head rest also appears to be genuine leather. Are all of these surfaces genuine leather?
Center console the two doors on the storage compartment appear to be genuine leather. I at first believed that the pieces along side the center console were some kind of vinyl but upon closer inspection it appears the stitching is real thread and that they may have actually used leather here. I applied the conditioner and it seemed like it was soaking in. Are all of these pieces real leather?
Rear seats these appear to be real leather, but I know that some manufactures dont use real leather for the back seats, but use some sort of synthetic. Are these real leather, including the headrests?
Upon completion, the interior appear to look better than new. I was impressed with the fit of the interior pieces and still believe this is the best looking interior in a luxury car unless you are willing to spend twice as much. I also added a wood trim kit that I bought off eBay, which I will discuss in a separate thread.
