K-002: Window control/window won't roll down/window reset procedure

power window motor replaced but stopped
Need help on acura legend. Replaced power window motor driver side and was moving smoothly but stopped at bottom and seemed to take power from battery still. Not able to close window again. Is it simply 5 second hold window switch drill to be performed. Or dealer give wrong or bad motor, switch, etc.

^Test the switch, it may be latching on when going down. So once it's down all the way the window can't go down anymore but the switch may still be on, however, once you turn the car off that switch runs on accessory power so it shouldn't be killing the battery.
You may find more help to your problem here. It's still not the same gen as your car but closer than us.

battery went dead, now back windows will not go up
My battery went dead today. 2 yr old Diehard. AAA guy said it was in good shape, gave me a jump, and I was on my way. I had all the windows rolled down when the battery died-transporting X mas tree! Now the back windows will not go up. It is not the child's back window lock.
Any suggestions? it is Sunday - have ot go to work tomorrow.

Power Window Reset ojn 06 RL?
Does anyone know how to do a power window reset? After my battery went dead, the back windows do not roll up, asnd someone suggested a reset. anyone know how to do this? Also, my nav screen has gone dead. A screen came up to reset the code, but the radio still works (I do not know the code, and do not know where to find it.)
Help! Gotta go to work tomorrow, and I think it's gonna rain!

a simple search yielded this gem:
your navi code should be along with your radio code in the black binder that encases the RL's owner manual.
that's where I found my codes at least.
if not, check the glove compartment. sometimes its stickied to the side of the glove box.
you can reset the windows yourself. press and hold the button to put the window the whole way down then hold for 5 seconds after the window is down. let go of the button. press and hold the button to put the window the whole way up then hold for 5 seconds after the window is up. your windows should now be reset and can be controled from the drivers window controls. I had to perform it just tonight to be able to control the passenger windows from my drivers door controls

Please don't post multiple threads on the same topic. It clutters up the forum and makes searching more tedious than it already is (not that you would know what searching is like anyways).

Had the same problem with the rear windows under warranty, the dealer replaced the regulators.

This just happened to me when I replaced the battery like 2 weeks ago. Nothing to worry about, each window has to be reprogrammed individually and they will all work from the drivers switch. Like RL95 said, 5 seconds each way and it should work. What you're reprogramming is the auto roll up/down feature and for some reason that has to be active for control from the drivers switch to function. Not sure why
Do the windows work when you use the switch on the door your trying to roll the window up?

FIXED!! you called it! i searched for "window reset" and found this thread
Rear window control - AcuraZine Community
fixed it instantly. you just go to the "problem" window, and roll it down, and continue to hold the button in the down position for 5 seconds...then roll it all the way up and continue to hold the button in the up position for 5 seconds. window is reset and the drivers pad then will control that window again. i did it for each rear window.
WHY this happened to my car all of a sudden, I don't know, but it must have had something to do with running the power all the way down to zero and draining my battery. maybe i need a new battery. nice to know that nothing is really wrong with the car.
I love my RL. it is SUCH a wonderful car. I bought mine used/CPO..and what a deal I got. my brother in law just bought a brand new toyota Corolla...with CLOTH..and he paid MORE for that "car" than I paid for my RL...... yeah it's new....but it's a tin can/death trap/econobox.
anyway..windows are fixed! thanks guys!

Three Wheelin'
This exact problem happened to me after I got windows tinted. I'm surprised that the battery can run down that quickly. It was on the "accessory" position for maybe 3 hours, as the tint shop had to move the windows up/down periodically during installation. I wonder what would happen at the drive-in theater, where you're running the radio for 2+ hours?

Same happened to me not too long ago....battery died and then that window didn't work! Thankfully this post was around and LSM posted on it haha. Thanks guys....wonder if 007 is gonna give me noon of the day

check your sunroof too
Everyone having this problem should also check your sunroof. If the battery is drained far enough to affect the windows, then the sunroof may need to be reset too. If the AUTO function on your sunroof doesn't work, this is prob why. Similar reset. Im sure it can be searched

Thanks, this thread saved me a few bucks. I had a low battery situation and after jump starting my 05 RL realized there was a problem with controlling rear windows from driver's console. The 5 second reset was done and bingo...problem gone!

Power Window Master switch issue
Hi All,
I *think* I know the answer but want to ask the forum for a second opinion.
In my 2006 RL, the passenger-rear window switch on the master switch (driver's door) no longer works. When I go to the passenger-rear door switch itself, the window goes up and down no problem.
Every other window switch on the power window master switch works fine - just not the P-Rear switch.
Thoughts? I'm thinking I need a new power window master switch.
Thanks!

Part of me wants you to dish out the dough for not searching, but it's be nice to noobs week.
Go to the door with the issue. Press the button until the window is down and hold it for 5 seconds. The pull the button until the window is up and hold for five seconds. Once you have done that, your window has been reset.

Thank you 007spy! This worked!
Oddly, before I performed this procedure, I had noticed my rear drivers side window stopped working as well.
Performed the reset on both and they're now working again. Fwiw, I did search for about 10 minutes....most of the results were around the TL and none mentioned the reset - although I must confess, I did perform this some 3 or 4 years ago, just didn't remember it.

The big "Search" bar in the middle of the page is just about useless unless you want to find the latest discussion on your favorite pronstar. I suggest using the "search this forum" toolbar just above the threads to the right in any forum page. You can also click on the little blue "search" icon and select "advanced search" from the drop down menu. In there you can narrow the search multiple ways.

my batt just died on 08 RL, replaced and no problem. At the same time our 06MB E350 wagon shaft balancer failed, so wife was driving RL, this morning, radar detectors not working WTF, tied to batt, didn't think so, Wife had turned detector off, and that was when i noticed the rear window not working.
Thats when i remembered someone had posted "This is all the things to do when replacing a battery". i.e. rear window reset etc. Worked like a champ thanks.
But is that post stickyed anywhere. i have searched, but failed.

It's not stickied, but it could be. However, it's my thread, and I'm not a big fan of tooting my own horn.

What is this broken wire?
How do I disconnect this from the door and what is it?

I stuck my hand in the door to move the glad up and found this broken wire. What is it?

It's a broken wire from the regulator.
Thanks to YouTube and all of the Window regulator videos. I brought the car to a mechanic and he wants $180 for the regulator installed.

Probably just need to do the switch reset procedure, from a quick search:
Press and hold the button to roll each problem window all the way down, then hold for 5 seconds after the window is down. Let go of the button. Press and hold the button to put the window the whole way up then hold for 5 seconds after the window is up. your windows should now be reset and can be controlled from the drivers window controls.
