I have been getting an intermittent chime with the oil light illuminating for a split second, then nothing happens and everything seems fine. I had the oil changed at the dealer on Friday morning, btw.

It usually happens right after start up, or when I have brought the car to a stop and only once in a while...

Any ideas?

TIA,

I'd check the oil level and see if they got it filled up as far as they should. Once you've decided there is enough oil in the car, then....

I echo the other post and Take back to the dealer to have them correct this!

Well, I finally have the diagnosis. It is a faulty oil pump and/or sensor. The tech said it was the first time he had seen one that failed. I asked if he thought it was the sensor or the pump itself, but he said that they would just replace the entire unit.

So, I should have her back tomorrow and I am really looking forward to it!

Make sure the oil filler cap is on tight.

I'd assume it's a somewhat pressurized system and a loose cap could lead to an error code not unlike leaving your gas cap loose.

I never heard of that, I do not believe there is a sensor for that, anyone know of this for sure?

oil pressure sensors are positioned on the high pressure passage from the pump. Leaving a cap off, wont result in low pressure until most of you oil has soaked your engine compartment (may take 2k miles to leak enough out)

Probem solved! Evidently the oil pump was failing, or the sensor was. The oil pump was replaced, and the problem appears to be gone...Whew! Thank god for CPO..
