Installed A-spec suspension ... can i mix rear A-spec shocks with OEM springs?

Like the title says... today i installed the A-spec suspension kit on my RL by myslef. It took me about 5 hours from start to end. I am sure that having a second person to help would have made this quicker but i had only my two hands.

One thing i could not do was to replace the rear coil springs. I was not able to remove the ball joint from the lower control arm and release the spring. I needed a "special" tool which i did not rent in advance.
So, i ended up with A-spec shocks on the rear and OEM springs. The fronts are all A-specs since i had no issues there.

The question is ... is it a bad idea to run a mix of OEM springs + A-spec shocks? The ride is pretty good as-is. I drove around town and i like how the new setup feels. It is less harsh than i expected, yet the car feels very well planted to the road. It's an improvement for sure.

I only wonder what i am missing by not having the A-spec springs.
Would they make the ride harsher? Or would they make it even more controlled?

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and go get the tool and get it done properly. Whats the point of buying the kit and only installing 80% of it? That's some mickey mouse ish.

Ahhh you dont need a special tool. ive used this meathod for over 10 years and never had one torn balljoint.

In the video the guy did it partly right. if you can jack up the suspension a little higher and have a fast jack you can do it without kick it. mine always popped out with just the force of the suspension itself
