Talking Is it Hydrogen!???

I can't help myself....

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...KTsbSDDg&hl=en

aight....so like I can get my RL AVG MPG to hit upwards of 50MPG causing my range to INCREASE. Does that mean I am running on hydrogen too?

aight?

Scientific Methodoly Rule 1: Set a baseline and maintain a constant for comparison puposes.

I know, I know.....I am a very bad person.

Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot.

Does that guy realize the range meter in the RL is NOT accurate?

Is HHO for real? Can some engineers here elaborate?

I can no longer find the article, but the argument was that it was impossible to fuel a car with HHO/H2O, soley.

The engine would be powered by hydrogen gas, which would have been the result of the break down of the HHO/H2O via a chemical process...but then the by product of the reaction that produces the energy for the car to run would be H2O.

Thus, you would be converting water to hydrogen and then back water and it would require a closed and continuous cycle which could not be stopped (you would not be able to turn off your engine), with no tolerance for loss of energy.

So far it seems that the metal hydride that causes the formation of the H2 gas is what is actually depleted in the "HHO/H2O fueled" vehicle technologies to date, making them not water sourced but hydride sourced (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water-fuelled_car).

But then again, I'm not an alchemist so I might be way off... and yes I know its wikipedia

The process is called water electrolysis whereby hydrogen gas is produced. There is a similar thread posted in the TL forum, and if I recall correctly, the OP named the thread "did you install one of these in your TL?" It received many responses, but 99.9% were negative.

Thanks. I knew it was BS but physics class was a long, long time ago for me.

Electrolysis is the separation of Water into hydrogen and oxygen by means of an electric current:

H2O------> H2 + O2 (its no balanced but oxygen is never released in an elemental form!).

As we all know hydrogen burns very nicely. However, the whole thing is bogus, the hydrogen that you could add to the engine would not change anything the air that the engine uses would be slightly higher in hydrogen than normal air. On the BMW hydrogen, what is burned is liquid hydrogen, which of course has infinitely more hydrogen per volume than gaseous hydrogen.
