How can this be? RL ranked as one of the worst cars of 04

http://www.autospies.com/article/ind...articleId=3782

Although i sorta agree with them regarding the heavy feeling while driving and numb steering, i totally think is this a top car of 04...

autospies' users generally prefer German cars (just what I think of the site).

As for the Ody, what is up with that?! The rationale is terrible; it's the class leader, but it disappoints. I guess the new 3 series disappoints too because it leads its class, but doesn't do more than what it's meant to do. Absolutely .

I agree with the Ford and Jeep. The Caddy isn't bad, neither is the RL. What does the A6 have (other than better looks IMO) that the STS or RL don't? Makes no sense and I don't believe any of their rationale.

Autospies may be biased, I don't know. I drove E500 AWD and 530i (new models) in comparing the RL and felt the RL drove tighter and more assured than the Mercedes and on par with the BMW (maybe RL a tad heavier feeling here). But 530i was rear drive which gave me concern in our winter snow. So I personally don't agree with their assessment. I would give more credence to a comparo by some of the auto mags or Cons Reports.

Autospies is a bunch of wealthy tools who steal other people's work and take credit for it. They're far from a highly creditable source of reliable information.

Autospies is the National Enquirer of online automotive publications. I remember seeing them take a picture that someone on CL photoshopped and publish it as the "first scoop" on a new model. What a bunch of idiots!

Every automotive publication has bashed the A6's stiff ride, so how can they comment on the RL? And to suggest Cadillac should come up with another Escalade?... :wtf:

Who writes this stuff? Pdiddy?

They publish that trash for this exact reason -- so we'll talk about it.

National Enquirer of automotive publications indeed.

Actually my first reaction to the car was the same as autospies. Not because the car is bad but because my expectations were so high.

Yeah I chuckled at the little writeup because it is IMO way off.

The best was the comment about how a flagship should be the best looking car...funny, because I dont see the flagship as the best looking car in almost every other brand.

LS430 is not the best looking Lexus to me, although I think it looks awesome

The 7 series is not the best looking BMW to me

The S class is not the best looking MB to me

The list could go on and on...

Hilarious how people can use one set of "rules" with one brand and not with others...I guess you od that when you have nothing to stand on in your opinion of a product.

I'm also trying to figure out how the car feels hevay while driving it...I came from a little IS300 and the RL doesnt feel much heavier while driving. My parents own a LS430 that I have driven many times in the past and it feels alot heavier than the RL even though they are about the same weight.

I'm surprised they'd say such negative things about the RL. Did they get an abused press model,or forget to inflate the tires correctly? And as far as Autospies goes, they raved over the 2004 TL when it came out last year, so they're not completely Deutsche-freundlich. They even say it again in the linked article....
