Honda Legend Front Grill

Lately I'm looking at either a 2005 or 2006 RL. What is stopping me? The front grille. Dear lord. Looks like my grandma's buick. Then I googled around and I saw the front of the Honda Legend (The RL in england/Japan). My jaw dropped. It is georgous.

Is there a way I can put the Honda Legend grille on an RL, but transfer the emblem so it's an Acura?

Ugly Acura RL grille:

If the car in the picture you posted is the one you're looking at, it has CMBS. You may not be able to swap the grills.

I vote for Acura. Maybe I should get a Buick next, because of my age.

The LEGEND grille is interchangable with the RL grille.

The LEGEND also has a CMBS / ACC option so there must also be a version of the LEGEND grille with the radar deflector. I would anticipate that part a expensive.

However, the Acura badge does not retrofit onto the LEGEND grille. A few members here tried it and needed to jerry rig the Acura 'A' onto the LEGEND grille.

If you search, a few members have completely converted their RLs into JDM LEGENDS. Qatar's RL comes to mind.

The only issue is that the Acura logo doesn't fit well in the Honda housing. Looks...not so good.

Nope it doesn't. You really need to get the whole JDM grille and cost $$$ for it.

HA! +1 on that comment! The irony here is how many of us on this board lamented the current phlegm grill (or whatever its supposed to be called) in favor of the classic 2nd Gen grill. I think the JDM grill adds nothing to the front end (besides the uniqueness factor, of course). The H medalion is a bit too bulkly IMHO.

So I finally fixed my Legend grille. I originally had the "A" emblem just superglued on to this pvc plastic piece cut out in the shape of the "H" backing. But it didn't look too good....

I bought a new emblem and actually drilled into the "H" backing with a drill bit. That allowed the mounting protrusions from the back of the "A" emblem to go through so I could screw it in.

However, the emblem would move and possibly fall out, so I got two small pieces of metal and drilled holes in the metal. I then used it sort of like a washer to ensure it doesn't fall off/through the holes I drilled in the "H" backing.

I then gobbed on silicone in the back to make sure it all stays.

I should have taken pics but I did this project at my parents house and forgot my cam.

Yes I know, you can still see the "H" backing but you can only really see it if you look up close. From far away it looks real good.

Here's the finished product....

I didn't take any recent pics from far away.. but I'll post an old pic I have from a few months back..

You need a smaller Acura logo to put in that grill to make it look right.
