hazed rl headlight with urethane clear coat clear like new
hey just wanted to share my pics of what cleared coated headlights look like. i didnt want to buff them as they would start to fog-haze after a few months. i heard that using urethane clear coat on them will make them last and my uncle was painting his truck so i decided why not. can't believe how they came out

lmao i know right. thats why i posted the pics lol. i just hope they hold up. i was wanting to use opti lens but its expensive and this was kinda a free mod for me since my uncle was painting anyways i took advantage. they really almost look new. they do have some trash in them not very noticeable. if i color sand prob look even better

Looks nice! I thought about doing that but after reading several forums about it i changed my mind since a lot of folks said the headlight heat would cause the clearcoat to yellow. Whether that would really happen or not i don't know but I was afraid to try haha. Looks sweet though!

I tried everything on my own that wasn't so obtrusive or require taking off the headlights.
Nothing really worked. The best results I got came from using 3M paint rubbing compound made for cars, a microfiber towel and a ton of elbow grease. It came out nice, but it's nothing like what you achieved.
Very nice!

The H1 main beam is probably your enemy. Since the car is usually moving, it will get cooling effect most of the time.
I understand the biggest cause of yellowing is that nuclear reactor in the sky. They do get hot then.
I'd avoid rattle cans - professional paint (like OP did) or don't bother.

well our main beam is the ds2 hid. the high beam is on as daytime running lights and even then the housing does not get hot. so far been three weeks and they still look great. changed the car completely

Just be careful who you ask here if smoking a fag is okay on the porch.
