have you called anyone from your car yet?

i thought this was a cool feature. i just kind of stumbled upon it. it said "say the number to dial" so i said a number and it started ringin. my friend picked up and i was like, this is the shit.... acura gives you 30 free minutes. it came in very handy when i lost my cell phone about 2 weeks ago. i also thought it was cool that your car has a phone number.... anyone else use it??

I don't have the RL just a lowly TL hehe. So you pressed the phone button on your OnStar control panel to place a call? Acura gives you 30 min free so then will you be required to transfer service over to your wireless provider? Or does OnStar provide its own wireless service?

My last question is this. With a Bluetooth phone and your wireless service, can both it and the phone option from OnStar be used at the same time?

I just don't see the point in having both but maybe I'm missing something.

Yes, the onstar service comes with 30 minutes of free personal calling (to be used within 60 days of activation). After that you can either buy more minutes (very expensive) or you can switch it over to your verizon account (add the car on as a 2nd line to your plan).

Or, as I do - and many others, you can use a bluetooth phone.

Precision Crafted - you have two options. The onstar service phone (phone built into the car) or a bluetooth phone (from your own service provider). The best option is to use a bluetooth phone from your own company with the handsfreelink.

Ok, thanks. I was wondering why offer both but since OnStar is a GM feature and not every GM has Bluetooth then a calling feature would be usefull.
