Full tank but displaying low miles

Hello all,

i have an 05 RL. Has anyone experience this problem while on a full tank, the display reads less than 200 miles distance to empty. Doesn't feel like a fuel pump problem. The car starts with no problem and does not shudder.
any help or suggestions welcome. TIA!

The fuel gauge shows full and is working properly? Maybe it the range is just showing a projected range based on past MPG.

This sounds like the likely culprit. OP - make sure you reset your trip computer when you refill your tank. Your range or miles to empty will then default to a value and then adjust based on your driving on this new tank. Some of the newer Acuras have a setting in the MID to automatically do this for you when you refill.
Also keep in mind if you live in a climate where you are warming up your car before you drive off, you are averaging in a lot of 0 MPG into the overall average.

You can go into MID settings to have the Trip A auto-reset after each fill up.

Agreed but not sure which years this is an available option and/or which models across the Acura line.

I don't know either, but all the Acuras I currently own all have this feature.

Yes, the fuel gauge shows full and is working properly. Although i rarely use the car for long distance driving and especially have not been using the car at all
during the pandemic. Should the MPG dropped so much though?

It's pretty common that folks forget about this. It's out of sight, out of mind type of thing. The car is warming on it's own and you aren't in it and no one gives a lot of thought to the 0 MPG being averaged in.
