Full LED light conversion!!

I am sick of my lame looking interior and exterior lights.. so I decided to order a bunch of LED lights and just "do it".

tonight I ordered from ijdmtoy the following

the vanity lights
the front/rear dome lights
the door lights
license plate lights
reverse lights

I haven't changed my fogs yet... that may be next. I want to see how these turn out first and then I will consider if I want to mess with fogs.

I shoudl get them by wed or thursday and will have them installed as soon as I get them. I'll snap some "before" pictures tomorrow night.. then "afters" and will post them up so you all can see how they look.

I have done LED lights on a prior car (my old boxster which is sold/missed) and it looks way better... the LED look is much more modern looking.

i ordered my lights in teh xenon white color, so they should look nice. I didn't want "blue" lights as its' not the look I'm after.

pics coming soon.

next on my list are springs, the front aspec lip, and finally -wheels. debating about 18s or 19s.

Sounds great...looking forward to pics

What were your sources and what exact model numbers did you get?

I would not mess with fogs if you EVER think you will need them....do something different and change to selective yellow fogs, which work better in rain or fog anyway....you can do halogen or HIDs.

I really want to see the results, and to hear how you get into the reverse lights. I am somewhat disappointed at the inference that you'll shortchange yourself from the orange under-car LED strips, though. Would you consider green?

Frankly, if the CREE reverse lights are that bright, I will want to put them in my Jeep, too.

to me, the lights have a slightly more blue look in the photos than they do in person... they look tons better than teh standard "yellow" lights...

i failed to upload pics of the reverse lights... will do that later. for now, here are these.

i moved them to my shuttefly account.. these should work.. i hope

these are the rear dome lights. you can see the LED is a flat chip shaped thing with several small LEDS on it, vs the OEM bulb is a festoon style bulbs. the reare domes are unique like this. the front domes are wedge bulbs like the doors.

We also have a 2007 MDX.. i put them side by side so you could get a comparison of the rear of a car with stock yellow bulbs vs the new LEDs.

my pry tools and hte big CREE LED bulbs for the reverse lights

i still think the pics look more blue here than they do in person... so if you feel they look "too blue".. i agree.... if you see the type of OEM colored ligths I see on many BMW or Lexus.. i htink myh reverse lights loog much like those.

i like them. the interior ones are similar in brightness to the OEM bulbs.. just a more pure white.. with perhaps a very very minor "bluish" tint.. but not "ricer blue"...

for not a very big investment, the whole car feels more modern / updated. the only bulbs that were pricey wsere those big cree bulbs.. they were $39.99 the pair. i got mine from ijdmtoys.com. they sold a kit for the RL that included every single bulb you woudl need to do the interior, including the vanity lights... the vanity light bulbs look like a very very big fuse... no idea what number/bulb number they are.

these pics are also dark.. sorry. i took them with no flash so that you could get an idea what it is like in the dark.. my wife is the photogrpaher in the family.. she has a nice DSLR and I have no idea how to use it.. next tiem I do car pics i'll have HER do the shots...

Ricer-blue huh?

Looks good. How well can you see backing up? Any better or worse than before?

007-

ok.. it's not "ricer blue"... it's just "blue".. the *really* blue lights seem like they don't throw out enough light that assist in seeing stuff at night.. at least the ones I had whey I was younger... a LOT younger..

my lights are probably similar in brightness to the OEM bulbs.

the back up lights seem similar to stock for brightness.

they are not the exact same color as my license plate lights..they are more pure white / or close to yellow..but nowhere near as yellow as stock.

the picture of my reverse lights.. I backed up my MDX next to my car, and put it's reverse lights on and captured it in teh photo... if you look at my car, then look to the far right in that photo.. you see the flat rectangular reverse ligth on my 07 mdx... you can see it is more yellowy... as far as ligth output, I think they are hte same.

next time I have the camera out, i'll snap some pics looking out the back window, if anyone wants to see one.

Okay, maybe not the moon, but if I had the right cover, I could easily summon Batman, especially since he lives in Austin.
