FML. Clunking suspension.
Hey everyone.
Here's my story.
I purchased a 2005 RL last summer and for the most part it was good. Check light for catalytic converter, AFS light is on, driveshaft whine, overheating, and slightly clunky suspension (all 4 corners).
Got the overheating taken care of. AFS light and ECL still on. The whine is still there, though oddly enough it disappeared for the entire winter but just recently came back when it got hotter.
Anyways, the clunking has gotten worse over time. It's to the point where it seems the suspension bottoms out on the smallest bump. With the huge amounts of snow I got in the upper midwest, I didn't have time to fix it earlier.
I replaced the rear struts a couple of weeks ago and this weekend I replaced sway bar bushings, and sway bar end links . I figured, that should fix the rear clunking. Hit my first bump on a test drive and the clunking was still there. None of those fixes worked.
I'm wondering what else could it be? Ball joints? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tightening of the e-brake did solve the metal clanking I've been having. Thanks.
Found out the clunking was the top strut mount. Replaced that and all is well. Lesson learned.
