False Advertising..."All-New" 2009 RL
Is it just me or did anyone else think that it was a little false advertising when the 09 RL was introduced. Just above it Acura had a sign that said "All-New". It's not even close to being all new. The interior is like 98% the same. Sure the mechanics underneath and engine have changed as well the front and rear fascia. This hardly gives it credence to call it "ALL new" though. When I think ALL, I think 100%.

In contrast, there are many "all new" vehicles which at least LOOK all new, with only similaries to keep family styling.
i.e. latest revisions of these below vs. their predecessor
Cadillac Escalade
Honda Civic/Accord
Infiniti G37
Lexus IS/ES/RX/LX
to name a few...but most importantly the Acura MDX....a HUGE change from the old style.

I don't think you quite get it. This reminds me of trying to reason with my wife. So was it an all new '06 RL in 2006, because the backup camera option was new. Must have been.

from 2001 to 2002 they called the TL all new.
Remember cases like these go to court all the time. I remember the one with colgate tooth paste. It said all new yet still all the ingredients where the same. THe difference was there was more of one ingredient than the year before. So the term All new is used loosely but Bearcat2000 I understand what you are saying.
That messed up grill pretty much makes the car "All New"

In another thread, by jwaters943, listing the RL changes, they claim all panels are different, except for the doors and roof, if my memory is correct... Don't forget, just because we can't immediately see the changes, doesn't mean things haven't changed.
As dnd2984 said, the term "All new" is used rather liberally.... Almost like the term "New and improved" is used in marketing consumer products.....

Just leave it to the marketing/sales folks... They'll come up with whatever term they have to in order to make things look interesting..
Like the BMW X3, it's not a SUV but a SAV.... Whatever

Infiniti started an Ad campaign about a year ago "introducing" the FX350. That vehicle had been out for a few years already but they made it sound like it was a new introduction. It was the same vehicle. I thought it was pretty smart of them to do that. They weren't deceiving in any way really. They didn't say it was new. They just said "introducing".
