Expected brake pad and rotor life
#3
I changed my front pads at around 100K. I never replaced or turned rotors ever. I also never replaced my rear pads. That was for 166000 miles.
I don't brake, I turn the wheel. If, however, the corner requires more than about .85g's then I approached the corner too fast.

You should turn the rotors with a pad change, and you should only turn them once. Thus, you can expect rotors to last 2X as long as pads.

I still have my original pads on the front at 94k miles.
Strangely, I had to replace the rear pads about 6k miles ago (not sure if the dealership turned or resurfaced the rotors when they did it, I'll have to look at the paperwork again). I always assumed the front pads would go first.
The life of these pads are pretty epic if you ask me. The BMW I previously had required new pads every 20k-30k miles on average.
