My driver seat back will pop out to the side if i press back. it is only on one side right. when that happens the seat back will not adjust. then i pull it forword it pops back in position then it works. I pulled that back off but do not know what to do to fix the problem.. Does any one know how i can fix this from happening?? please Help. Yes i can live with it but it is the only thing wrong with this 217,000 mile 2005 Acura RL that i lOVE!! (highway miles)

 

Pull your seat back completely off and look at the bottom where the clips are held in place, if one of the clip holders is cracked, you can either replace the clips with new ones and zip tie the faulty side back tight or replace the whole seat back panel. Make sure none of the bottom seat trim is bent or causing interference with the seat back.

 

please tell me how to completely take the driver seat back off. have you done it and what does the clips look like??? thanks for the reply.

 

Just pry the other side out and pull it down, the anchor clips will need to be replaced as they break or will stay in place in the bottom of the seat back frame. If your patient with a pair of right angle small pliers, you may be able to salvage the clips. They are not as re-usable as say the door panel clips. You will see when they come out.
