Drilled Rotors
Hey,
I dont know much about the brands for drilled rotors. has anyone installed drilled rotors on their RL? I was on ebay, seem few popular brand like All Posi-Quiet, Cquence brakes, Royalty rotors, and iROTORS XDS. what brand do you prefer? and after its installed, can you feel the difference from stock rotors when you brake? also, any problems from the rotors? thanks in advance!

i honestly dont think you should worry about upgrading rotors.
on a street driven car, you're not going to see any sort of gain by changing rotors.
you may notice improvements in braking / brake feel if you do Stainless steel lines, fluid, pads. - stuff like that.
rotors might make a difference if you are tracking the car and worried about brake fade for extremely hard / constant braking... somehow I doubt anyone is doing that with their RLs.....
they look cool... and that's about all you'll get out of them on the street under normal daily driving conditions.
i'd leave rotors stock and put money into SS lines, good pads, and change out the fluid.
if your rotors are truly shot - and they must be replaced, I dont' think it can hurt to go with slotted rotors, but if you are going to be paying "extra" to get them, you're wasting your money.
just my $.02

quality crossdrilled rotors will NOT crack. Especially on a street car.
Honestly like mentioned by others previously xdrilled rotors will do nothing for you unless your finding yourrself with cooked outgasing brakes at every stop light. Lol
seriously though, it's overkill for alot of cars.
ss lines and a better fluid will give you better pedal feel if that's what your trying to achieve. Couple of odd bits about xdrilled rotors is that they make a slight popping sound when stopping, and one good thing is that they make the rotor lighter.
slotted rotors you can feel through your pedal more when compared to xdrilled.
if I think of any other bits of info I'll post up.

thanks for the input, Old Hatch. i'll need a brake job within a couple of months and had some concern about all the comments about bad drilled rotors. if they are so prone to cracking, why are they used on almost every super high performance car?! i think i'll take your suggestion: slotted & drilled rotora rotors, ebc red pads, SS brake lines and have all the brake fluid flushed/replaced on the 05 RL.
i imagine this will look great and work even better. should i stay with factory fluid or look into silicone, etc?
