Door Puddle light out after LED install

I purchased some Blue LED bulbs (size 168) from Ebay to replace our stock wedge bulbs in the door. After I installed the bulbs, the light stopped working. Put the old bulb back in and now nothing works. Next I tried installing the blue bulb in another door and same thing happened. Now I have two doors that won't light up even with the original bulbs. I checked all fuses and nothing is blown. Took it to Honda dealer and they said it may be in the mutiplex but it was just a guess. Then I took it to an acura dealer and they said it could be something in the fuse box, but not sure. They would need to hire an electrician to troubleshoot it for me at my cost. Anybody have suggestions what to do next???

Don't plug that bulb into anything else.

Get a voltmeter and the wiring diagram. Then start to troubleshoot.

SMH... eBay anything cant be trusted.

Are you capable of troubleshooting this?
If not you will have to pay up because I doubt we will be able to online troubleshoot this one with out some help on your end.

I think I'm gonna end up paying. I have a volt meter, but don't know how to use it. 2nd option is to just live with it. This option seems the easiest and cheapest.

Understood. You could google how to use it and work your way from the fuse panel to the door checking for voltage.

But, on the same note, you very well could just live with it if nothing else is affected.

My guess is that there is a small control box that has a timer and dimmer functions. But I have nothing to ground that.

Try a battery reset before giving up.

Have you tried flipping the direction of the bulbs? That happened to me while doing my LED interior swap and I had to flip the bulbs and even tinkle w/ the metal connectors on the bottom of the bulb. Make sure the bulbs are in all the way as well. Give a shot before you spend money.

This would be a good option if the original bulb still worked. From the details given here, it sounds like the circuit has been shorted and likely damaged from a bad ebay bulb.

Is a battery reset as simple as it sounds? Just remove the battery terminal and reattach?

Just curious, have you looked through the seller's feedback responses to see if others have had the same issues. Surely you can't be the only one if it's an issue with the bulbs. I've bought tons of LED bulbs from various eBay vendors and have never even heard of something like this happening.

The most sure way to know that you have drained as much charge as possible is to remove the terminals, and touch the cables together for a minute or so. Just be sure that you have your 5 digit radio code and 4 digit Nav code ready.

I did not check feedback from the seller of the bulbs. I did get my money back, but was not worth all the trouble. Tried disconnecting the battery this morning but did not change anything. Next I'll try disconnecting and touching the terminals to drain. Cross my fingers, hope it works.
