Does the MID read Tranny Fluid?
I depend too much on the maintenance indicator display. After going through my service records, I noticed the tranny fluid has never been replaced (98K miles). The diff and engine oil have always been done when indicated, and I know there is a code for tranny fluid. However, it has never tripped and I'm afraid of getting it flushed with so many miles on the tranny now.
Any suggestions?

Page 369 of the owner's manual:
display.
So it should have shown on the maintenace minder. If you are concerned about it, I would just call an Acura service dept. and ask at what intervals the routine is performed.
The transmission should be drained
and refilled with new fluid when this
service is shown on a maintenance
message in the multi-information

The MID code for tranny fluid change is 3. Per the manual code 3 reads:
Replace transmission and transfer fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle
speeds or trailer towing results in higher
transmission and transfer temperatures.
This requires transmission and transfer fluid changes
more frequently than recommended by the
Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your
vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission
and transfer fluid changed at 60,000 miles
(100,000 km), then every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).
I believe Honda ATF is rated for 100K for 'normal' driving conditions. So you are likely to see the code soon. No harm having it changed now for peace of mind. I like to change my tranny fluid and brake fluid every three years.

Anyone know how much a dealer would charge to flush the ATF and refill it?
I dont think its ever been changed in my car and I feel like the car struggles when switching in and out of 3rd gear.
Thanks
