DIY Transmission Mount

DIY Transmission Mount
Is there a video of a DIY changing transmission mount on a 2006 Acura RL. Anyone know the average cost of getting this change and not at the dealer. I have a neighborhood mechanic priced me at $400. It is a little pricey for me.

which mount, there are like 2 transmission mounts and 3 engine mounts.
if i recall correctly, they are pretty easy. uninstall old mount, install new mount. might have to jack up transmission a bit in order to take the tension out and give a little slack, so you can replace it.

hm. Thats a lot. I don't have RL. but it looks pretty straight forward from looking at a pic of the mount. There maybe few things on the way making it difficult to reach the bolts. There are flex adapters that make it easier to reach tough spots. It's very difficult to screw up a tranny mount. Sometimes a mount is attached to subframe via another bracket. And the bracket may block some bolts. So ull need to unbolt the bracket in order to get to mount bolts that holt it to transmission. Just lube bolts with grease and when u tighten them make sure they screw in easy. .u can damage threads if u screw bolts in side ways at an angle.. kind of a chore to fix broken thrEads later. 400 is a lot. I would definitely diy.. it really is not that difficult to save these 400$.
