Did I screw up on this Deck Lid?

Just saw this on ebay and bought it for my 08 RL Not sure if it is only for the 09 RL but the price was crazy so I bought it. I searched the part number (08f10-sja-280a) and saw a couple of sites listing it as also being compatible to the 08. So I took a chance for the price. Does anyone know if it fits If not I will have a Platinum Frost Deck Lid for 2009-12 RL for sale very soon.

I think you're SOL. That lid doesn't look like it fits the 08 RL. I had ordered a deck lid for my 06 RL. The 06 and 08 are the same design. That is a different design.

LOL. Forget the red text today?

OP, just return it to the seller. Their auction specifically states 08-09 RL. It should state 09+ RL. Yes, it is partially your fault because you should have done your research or, at the very least, taken a look at your trunk lid and realized that it obviously would not fit. Regardless, the seller listed the item improperly and you are covered by eBay and Paypal's buyer protection. I'm sure the seller will not give you any grief over the return. The have a 99.9% feedback rating and you don't get that kind of a rating without taking care of your customers.

Yea you can tell it doesn't fit the 05-08 just by looking at it. It has a pointed "V" where as the 05-08 is rounded off. I bought my deck lid spoiler for my 05 for that price on ebay a lil while ago so you should be able to find similar

If you want to see what it will look like do this:

Step 1-Find a round object
Step 2-Find a triangle shaped object
Step 3-Try to find a way to make their edges match up

That should give you a pretty good idea of what it will look like.

That is a TL lid. The '09 RL still has the same shape trunk.

Please forgive the atrocity I am about to display, but this is what it is made for.

I think we were both referring to the curved shape without a point.

I guess Bultl is right. I missed the part number picture. I suppose if you look really hard, you can see the Acura centerline crease in the trunk.

037 had one. We need to find a picture of his.

Did you ever find a RL deck lid/spoiler for your Platinum Frost 08?
I just purchased a 07 in the same color and was told by Acura that that color is discontinued and they have none in stock anywhere. Any suggestions RL experts?

Check out CARiD.com. There you can search by vehicle. They have the "factory style" deck lid spoiler you are looking for.

For a few bucks more, I would rather get the Acura one that also comes with the helper strut, since some addtional weight is added to the trunk. Nothing more annoying than having the trunk fall down on you.

Great answers. Does anyone know if Platinum Frost Metallic 07-08 is the same as Celestial Silver seen in 05-06?

This is a different color. As I remember, Celestial silver has a warm, almost yellow cast, in it.
