This is further support to my decision to get front and back dash cams. With police not responding to injury-less crashes anymore, it's essentially a race to the insurance company now.

this was only one example i posted but there are much more times that save me.
One deductible alone should be able to cover the cost.
I've seen some people with $1000 or higher deductible as well.
make sure you get one that is able to identify plate number and road names.
quality is everything

went with BlackVue for following reasons:
- size: with anything mounted on dash, size/weight plays big role of how long it can securely remain mounted. inavi units are known for their problem with mounting tape not lasting. i've had mine for about 2 years now and i drive my car pretty hard. i even took RL to track events and no problem with mount yet.
- size again: i went with non-screen unit to be discreet. don't want people to know that they are being recorded and don't want potential thief thinking it's navigation unit to steal. if you saw the pix(i know they are bad) you can hardly tell that i have cam installed.
- ease of use: very easy to use on both computer & phone. if you phone as microsd slot, you can plug directly. app itself is also very easy to use and wifi-range is decent.
- hardwiring with battery/voltage regulator: if you want to record not only during driving, you need this as without it, it will drain your battery and kill it.
- Korea is well know for their blackbox/dashcam. 90% cars in Korea have dashcam and first thing police/insurance companies due there is to locate video on cars in that area to get evidence. went thru probably 200+ reviews on item and decided BlackVue was one to get.
let me know if you have any other questions.
BTW, do not try to hardwire dashcam to Porsche. Porsche has very sensitive electronics and will need special attention/care or you have risk of frying/voiding your warranty.

Cruisin'
I tell you what that lady is a total IDIOT she was in the right lane ahead of OP she then moved to her immediate left just to try and come back to the right again, if anything she was being overly aggressive she should've gone to jail.
