Condenser Fan

Now it's the condenser fan's turn.

It's making a noise as if there's a train passing by right beside the car! Seems shaky. This is not fixable right? I need to simply replace the assembly?

For replacements, is doorman ok? its the only one seemingly available. I prefer VDO if anyone knows who has stock.

Thanks!

Help me out guys. How does one know if its the fan making the noise? Coz it's one now. It comes on sometimes. But yes, turning the AC auto off, makes it go away, then if i turn it on, it doesn't come back on. Only rarely now.

Is there a way to know by touching and pressing on it? it goes back a tiny bit if i press on it, but not much.

the first time i heard the noise, i open the hood, and find that i forgot to put the oil cap back on for 3-4 days it sat there on the engine cover luckily. I don't know if that can trigger a shake. But the shaking went off then when i turned off the AC.

Any ideas appreciated.

Does it get worse as you turn on the fan speed? if so, check the blower motor under the passenger glove box compartment. It is easy to remove and inspect if there is anything that may have dropped in it causing noise.

Its the same level of noise. like a major vibration. It goes off as soon as i turn off the AC. I watched it with the hood up, noise is while fan is on, and off when fan stops. You can clearly hear it in the condenser fan area.

I pressed on the fan, there's some give when you press on it. While the radiator fan is steady if you press on it, no give.

I'm guessing fan motor bearing, but I don't feel like spending 300+ bucks if unsure.

Are you talking about the two fans in the front of the car? One of mine went out around 150k... its a pretty easy swap but each fan is different so make sure you get the right one. I went OEM and ordered the part online...

Yes.

Was it the driver side or passenger? How much did you pay?

Do you remember the manufacturer brand?
