Central Control Panel Display

I'm wondering how many owner's have experience failure or trouble with the Central Control Panel Display requiring replacement.

Now that the 2nd Gen RL has been out since 2004, I imagine this is enough time to get long term reliability information. One decisions I have to make (and leaning toward) when I buy our RL is to buy the extended warranty.

Thx

Are you talking about the Nav display screen, or the MID (Multi-Information Display between the speedo and the tach)?

(BTW - no problems with either one of mine.)

I don't believe I've read of any issues.

Don't know what this is, but no problem with any of the displays.

Unless you live in Florida, consider not buying your extended warranty from the dealer before first checking out the warrantys available on line from Honda Dealers such as Ray Laks, who is a sponsor, as www.HondaAcuraWorld.com

Ask for Tim, if you call 800 RAY LAKS. I saved over $1000 this way, on an extended warranty.

The 2G RL allegedly has 16 computers.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm talking specifically about the NAV screen. The "Central Control Panel Display" is what Acura calls the screen.

I had an incident over a year ago where the screen went/stayed black. After about 5 ignition cycles, it started working again, and I haven't had a problem since.
