Can I run this ole girl hard?
Ok people......I am making some car changes in my life to add a little fun. I rec bought an 06 RL base w 115k on the clock. I mostly drive like an old man but I like to run through the gears when I see some open highway. My question is....do a lot of you guys run these cars hard on the daily with no issues? Do these cars kinda like it? I would like to feel like I have clearance that when ever I get a wild hair I can switch to paddles and run her a bit....not to red line but certainly spirited driving. I just got this baby some new gaskets and seals and it wasnt cheap so I dont want to mess anything up.

Thanks for the replies......I know I cant let myself really buzz the thing around like I would like to. I always baby my cars so they dont cost me a bunch of repair $$$$$. But not last summer I bought a Porsche 986 on the cheap and had some fun...I only owned it for a short time but every single expert to the person said that Porsche engines need to be run hard......they dont like to be under rpm'd. I was thinkin this 3.5 seems so eager to please and that maybe she wants to go go go all the time. Thats not my driving style but I would like to incorporate a lil more go go in my style. That said I never miss the opportunity when merging onto the interstate no matter what I am driving those ramps are a license to drive!!!

Don't worry
Ive always owned integras till I got my RL so I was accustomed to going to redline, so i run the RL hard I've gone 150mph holding 3rd and 4th to redline and still got smoked by a Camaro but it will keep pulling if you let it, just make sure if u're using paddles to shift because I've banged limiter b4 and it doesnt automatically shift up. I do stay on top of all fluids tho oil, diff, transfer case, trans all of it. And it's a Honda it's gonna be reliable and it's gonna rev 191,000ish miles & no problems

I agree with Heavy, as I usually do. My rule of thumb with stuff like this is generally that if it feels like the car is shifting smoothly without disruptive jerking or expensive noises, it's probably happy, and if it's sending shudders through the entire driveline, it's trying to tell you something. These engines were built to be wound out periodically. They'd probably carbon up if you didn't.
