B2 Service Due. $450?!
I am getting a message about a B2 service being due. I called the dealer and they want $450! I asked her what it entails and from whati can tell its pretty much an oil change and tire rotation! They 'inspect' a few other things including brakes (which I had done on a TSB) but it sounds like a lot of fluff for a LOT of money. Does anyone have experience with this?

Just tell them you want an oil change and tire rotation. Most dealers already do a "courtesy inspection" anyway.

Will they turn off the service notification if I do that?

You can turn it off yourself. Instructions are in the manual.

The 2 service also includes engine air filter and cabin air filter. You can but both under $50 and do it yourself. They charge about $90 for both filters plus the labor cost. Likley $150 of that fee is just for filter replacements!

Call around or look for coupons from other Acura dealers. Mine will except other Acura dealership coupons and match it.
Hope that helps?

$450 is a bit high for a B2 service, but remember that it does cost a lot of money to run a legitimate repair shop, especially for a luxury car dealership.
I would expect to pay about $150 for the B1 portion of the service, and another $150 for the "2" code ($50 for filters, 1 hour for labor). Anything more than that is a bit too high. Even MB doesn't charge $450 for their B service.

I prefer ala carte
I prefer the ala carte option; Oil change and Tire Rotation.. and I rotate every oil change since I have these ridicuously expensive pax tires..
They always try to sell me a visual inspection, uh I mean Service, and I figure as long as the car is under warranty why pay for someone to tell you everything looks good. I could understand getting one, maybe, before the car goes off warranty, otherwise "I" feel it is a waste of my money.
I had the differential fluid changed too on one of the services. It was still cheaper to have oil, rotation and differential change, $160, vs like $400..

Go Big Blue!
Had my B16 indicator come on this week. Fountain Acura in Orlando quoted $165 but they said the rear diff fluid change wasn't necessary at 11k. They'd recommend I do it at my next oil change, and then again at 60k. Not sure if there's break-in fluid in the gear case requiring the drainage at 15k. By the way, the replacement of the rear diff fluid is another $65 so that is pretty much equal to the $211 quote VLUU got.

Burning Brakes
Have 23,100 miles and no notification about differential change only B12. I change my own oil. How hard can it be to change the diff oil when the time comes?

07 RL (non-tech)w/06 Nav
I too do most of my minor maintenance...oil & filter changes, bulbs, wipers, installation of nav systems, back-up cameras, but I'll probably go to the dealer to take care of the diff oil change because its much easily accomplished on a lift than in a residential garage.
I'll wait a year and get both diff fluid changed with the steering hose recall reapair

B16
I got the B16 at 11.5K and the dealer did go ahead and change the differential fluid. Seemed early to me but I speculate they fear some kind of early burn out if it is not right and want to get an early look at it? Pricing was $160 for oil, tire rotate and diff fluid change.
