AWD-shuttin off

So I know know some of you guys say some error codes are being cause by battery going bad but I dunno if this is considered an error code but the AWD light pops up on occasion while I'm drivin and the car sputters a bit. I turn the car off and light goes off. So a battery issue or any ideas what it could be? It wasn't that cold out tonight and didnt happen all winter here in NY. My temp gauge doesn't work at all and if it does work it's always sayin a weird temp like -22 or 22 then drops down in temp.

Replace the battery. My battery was getting low and the AWD light was coming on, when it did either AWD was disabled or was not working correctly because I noticed I was slipping very easily going up the hill to my house when there was snow on the street.

First check the battery. Second, check the rear diff fluid levels.

I doubt the AWD shuts off, its mechanical however it does go into limp mode a bit. does power cycling works every time? change battery first

Well I might the AWD light comes on and while I'm drivin and holdin got gas it sputters a bit then drives fine again wit light still on. Ima give it a couple more days if it keeps actin up ill change battery. I bought the car bout a year ago never change battery and I dunno when prev owner changed it. I also have a system in my car so that may contribute to battery possible going.

You doubt wrong. When the SH-AWD error message comes on the car reverts to FWD to keep from possibly damaging the rear diff.

Cause even on my little computer thing once the AWD shits off it only shows power going to the front wheels

Right. Because the power IS only going to the font wheels. The SH-AWD system is in self-preservation mode at that point. My Prelude used to do the same thing with the ATTS differential. Even a CEL would also trigger the ATTS error light which shut the system down and kept it from transferring power between the wheels. It's actually a great thing Honda does. It keeps VERY expensive components safe from any damage/further damage. In case anybody wasn't sure how much the rear diff in a 2G RL costs:
