Anyone in Los Angeles got an A-Spec RL?

I'm thinking of upgrading my '05 RL with A-Spec wheels and suspension. Before doing it I'd like to know the difference in how it will handle and ride. Problem is, I can't find a dealer who has one in stock. Is there anyone in the Los Angeles area who has an '05 or '06 A-Spec RL that might be willing to take me for a spin?

I don't *think* there are any a-spec members in the LA area - but maybe there are. Have you tried to find a stock TL and an a-spec TL to drive? This may be a decent indicator of the difference in ride quality. I had driven my TL without a-spec for a little while, then added the a-spec later. When it was totaled I bought the RL - and I had driven the RL a-spec and the ride quality difference was equivalent between the two.

The ride is a little harsher - but straight line driving isn't much difference. I think the biggest difference is when you are going in and out of turns.

The other thing to consider is - do you have the stock TIRES still on the car? If so, the upgrade to the 18" with good tires won't make much of a difference in ride quality - as any good tires will kill the OEM stock tirs.

I haven't driven one but I can tell you what you are going to find when you drive one. It will have a harsher ride for sure, and it will lean less on turns - if the road turns really bad it will hurt your kidneys. The overall handling will not improve for your everyday driving. If you are planning on taking it to the track and enjoying it there, then the A Spec package will make a big difference and you will enjoy it thoroughly.

I'm not going to any tracks and I value my kidneys. Perhaps I should limit my changes to 18" wheels and better tires. Any other opinions?

If you aren't going to drive as agressivly as a track - then the suspension won't do much for you except give you a slightly rougher ride. The upgraded wheels and tires are the way to go.

I opted for the full A-Spec package and, as expected, it is definately a firmer (harsher) ride. If you value the plush ride of the original suspension, go for the 18" wheels and spoilers for the look and bypass the suspension. Although the original suspension provides excellent handling, I will admit that the A-Spec suspension takes it to the next level. I like the firmer ride; my wife prefers the original.

A few weeks ago when my RL was getting the upgrades, I saw and looked at an '05 RL with the A-Spec Pkg. in for service at the same dealer. Acura of Riverside, Ca.
