My problems are not just "today", I frequently see slow traffic indications when I'm the only one on the freeway and I can be stationary in a traffic jam and the display shows "full speed ahead"! As previously concluded on this forum, "It is a fun toy but useless unless it's updates are rreal-time from the road sensors and other sources.

The following is a response from a previous complaint of mine. Maybe if everybody gave notification of erroneous displays they would be more inclined to improve it.

Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ.

We apologize for the problems you've been having with your traffic service. Please contact XM directly regarding your XM NavTraffic service at 1-800-XMRADIO. You can also find additional information about the service at www.xmnavtraffic.com.

XM NavTraffic's traffic data is provided by NAVTEQ Traffic. NAVTEQ Traffic aggregates traffic data from several sources (Departments of Transportation such as CalTrans, media companies, traffic road sensors, police scanners, cameras etc.). Without the date and location of the road closure, it is difficult for us to ascertain the root cause of the problem. If you provide us the specifics of the road closure problem you mentioned, we will conduct an investigation into the issue. Data is archived for a short period of time, so the window in which we can research specific instances is time-constrained. Additionally, can you provide any information regarding the roads where you have experienced "slow traffic" information at 3AM?

NAVTEQ Traffic greatly appreciates your contacting us about this issue, as we are constantly striving to improve our traffic service. Again, we apologize for your dissatisfaction with the service and hope your future experiences with the service will be positive.

If you have additional questions, you may call us direct.
